The Bracket

Welcome to the first-ever Bracket Challenge.

Registered athletes will have their shot at the $3750 prize purse. The Bracket is a two-week challenge with sixty-four athletes. Each week you will go through 3 rounds of the 6 round challenge. Each round, you will receive your head-to-head match-up and the details of the race showdown. If you lose a head-to-head match-up, you are eliminated from the competition and will be removed from the Strava group. Winners move on and still have a shot at the cash. Each round, you will receive an email containing the rules for that week’s match. YOU MUST FOLLOW THE RULES, or you will be disqualified. In order to seed each athlete, there will be an all-out 5k run to determine where you will be seeded. Once all athletes have submitted their 5k results and have been seeded––the six rounds will begin. Before each round, you will receive a detailed email with the rules for that round. Just like in March Madness, the Bracket will start with 64 athletes, and this number will decrease as you move through the rounds. Round one – 64 athletes Round two – 32 athletes Round three – 16 athletes Round four – 8 athletes (Elite Eight) Round five – 4 athletes (Final Four) Round six – 2 athletes (The Finals) The rules are simple and must be followed, or you will be disqualified from the tournament. There is money on the line, so cheating will not be tolerated. There will be two brackets, a men’s Bracket, and a woman’s Bracket. Both brackets will pay out the four athletes who successfully make it to the final four.

We are sorry, the only way to be able to compete is by completing all challenges on a 400-meter track.
